Thanksgiving may be over and the next big food blow out is of course Christmas! In the UK it is traditional to have turkey for dinner so if you are loooking for a fresh turkey from the butcher or an organic variety, you should be thinking about this today. Leave it any later and it will be the supermarket frozen variety for you and your family. even then you will have to ensure it is fully defrosted before Christmas day. There are of course a number of online suppliers who will deliver in time for the day but remember deliver vehicles are working overtime during this festive period so make sure you have it delivered in plenty of time. So how big do you need the turkey without having to think of different recipes for the rest of the year! usually a 5lb bird will feed a family of four or five people and a 9lb bird will easily feed eight or nine. If there are more of you then make sure you get a monster and have a fantastic Christmas dinner.
