Is there a charity that collects used Christmas cards?

WHSmith, Asda, Boots, M&S and loads of other stores have collection boxes every year for your used Christmas Cards.

I know that the ones collected by WHSmith are going to a Woodland Charity.

Sending corporate Christmas cards is more important this year than you may think.  As businesses are looking for ways to cut expenses in these difficult economic times, Christmas cards are one thing you really should continue to include in your marketing budget.

Not only are these seasonal greetings ways to keep in touch with your clientele, but by sending them you are saying that your business is doing well and you appreciate and remember their support.  You are saying thank you for the past year and that you are looking forward to a continuing partnership in the years ahead.

Here are 5 reasons why you should send corporate Christmas cards this year:

1.   Tangible:  In this world of emails and voice mails, a card that you can hold in your hand says you are special and your business partnership is important.  Send one early in December, before the last minute rush, and it will be circulated throughout the company and admired for weeks to come.  Send a calendar card and it will be proudly displayed on an office wall for the entire year.   When imprinted with your company name and logo, this advertising spend is well worth the minimal investment.

2.  Personal:  A Christmas card sent to a business associate says you value their partnership.  Custom printed personalization looks impressive and is often included in the cost of a card when bought in bulk.  If possible, add a short handwritten note or sign your name as well.  This added personal touch will let your client know that they are extra special, which is money well spent.

3.  Networking:  Social networking is becoming more and more important in the business world.  Staying in touch is an important business tool. A card will give you a reason to reach out to clients you may not have contacted in awhile.  Reviewing your address list on an annual basis is a good idea and will help you stay current.  Your thoughtfulness will keep you both connected and insure continued partnerships.  This small expenditure will lead to customer loyalty in the years ahead.

4.  Success:  An impressive card sends the message that your business is thriving and what you are doing is working well.  Companies like to do business with those they feel are successful.  If funds are tight, send a high-end card instead of that annual box of cheese and sausage.  If you do send a gift, don’t forget to add a personalized card.

5.  Thanks:  A Christmas card not only sends wishes for the holiday season but also says thank you for your business over the past year.  Consider sending a photo greeting with a picture of your office team on it, especially if your business is conducted via phone and email.  It is a great opportunity to put names with faces and a sure way to build business relationships.

Custom printed corporate Christmas Cards are not as expensive as you may think.  Be -sure and select a very nice, high quality card that expresses your companies’ values.  Add impressive personalization, and your return on investment will be well worth the effort.  Sending holiday cards to your valued clients and business associates is a tradition well worth continuing and one that will result in economic rewards for your company for years to come.
