Who Is Santa?

childrenSanta Claus goes by quite a few names, Saint Nick, Kris Kringle, Father Christmas, and of course, The Jolly Fat Man. He is one of the most loved holiday figures by children in Western society, if not THE most. And it's not hard to understand why. Saint Nick brings lots of presents to all Christmas celebrating children across the globe! The amazing thing is that he does all of this in just one night!

The job Kris Kringle has is not an easy one. It's a process that lasts all year-round. He makes a list of every boy and girl, and keeps track of their good and bad behaviour to finally decide, when Christmas roles around, if they've been naughty or nice. He then gets his magical workshop elves to work around the clock on the perfect present for every good child. Then he gathers those gifts on his magical sleigh, pulled by 9 flying reindeer, and takes off to drop all of the toys down the chimneys of all the well behaved boys and girls. He doesn't forget the misbehaved, though. He will sometimes leave coal in their stockings, and figure they should be grateful it wasn't something else.

For the rest of the year, Santa spends some of his time in the North Pole located at the tip top of our planet, and most of his time in Santa Claus Village in Lapland, Finland. It is believed that he stays there with Mrs. Claus. There aren't as many nicknames for her, but she still has her role helping to keep her husband’s spirits lifted. He also lives with the aforementioned reindeer, Dasher, Donder, Comet, Prancer, Vixen, Cupid, Blitzen, Dancer, and Rudolph. He's the one with the red nose, of course.

For many years, Santa has also been receiving letters. Sometimes he even writes back, but with so many letters, it can be difficult. With everything else he does, the fact that he still at least TRIES is no less than awe-inspiring.

Clearly, Father Christmas is a very kind and merry old man. Always wearing furry, white, and red clothing, black boots, and the infamous "Santa hat," he spreads more joy to young kids than the Easter Bunny, even though the Easter Bunny lays plastic eggs full of candy. YOU try doing that. However, Santa Claus has raised the bar so high it looks to be that the only person who'll ever be able to top him would be good old Saint Nick.

Though it is still unknown WHY Santa is as giving a person as he is, wouldn’t you agree that Santa Claus is just about the coolest holiday icon who ever existed? He has inspired so many lifelong stories and memories of nearly every human being on earth. Not many things can accomplish that.

What Is A Christmas Catalog?

christmas01aniMany older folk remember when they were small children, and how much they anticipated getting the Yuletide catalogue in the post. Corporations like Seals , J. C. Penney, and one or two other giant malls mailed out their special vacation catalogues a month or 2 before the Xmas vacations. Youngsters always loved it when these arrived. They'd spend ages brushing the pages of the toy section in these catalogues. Many would mark the pages in some form containing a coveted present. This doesn't occur so much nowadays with the intro to PCs, the Net, and online ordering. some bigger toy stores will still send out a Christmas catalogue thru the post. These catalogues pleasure kids of every age when they arrive at their residences. You can notice many dog eared copies of these vacation catalogues at the houses of buddies and family during the weeks before Xmas .

Just like their mom and pop or grandparents, they may also mark pages containing presents that they want to see under the tree on Christmas morning bearing their names. While these books were widely examined, there were also other uses for a Christmas catalogue. Following Xmas , many of those were turned into the prime items in certain crafts. They were turned into such stuff as doorstops, or used to chop photos from for a collage picture. It appeared that these books became quite convenient for many things that had zip to do with finding and ordering gifts. Many folks will still actively try to find catalogues in order to use them for making. It is just about a bit depressing that many corporations rely online or little flyers now, instead of sending out a Christmas catalogue.

his is actually one of the favourites from history that's missed by many that experienced the thrill of receiving these catalogues. There are some mail order firms which will issue vacation catalogues, but these appear to only be available to companies, instead of personal voters. That's completely comprehensible from a business view point, nevertheless it is still rather sorrowful that you can not get these catalogues at home. It is doing appear as if the true Yuletide catalogue has been supplanted by tiny vacation flyers from conglomerates like Walmart and Target. While these are fun to look at, it just isn't the same as having a big five hundred page book piled high with items to select presents from. You can whip thru these flyers in a matter of mins, while it would probably take many pleasure filled hours to pore over the catalogues of the past.

Perhaps this could become a thing of the future again if enough folks start asking for them.

Where Can You Find Cheap Christmas Gift Ideas?

frozecarolerAre you having difficulty thinking about good, or at a minimum decent, inexpensive Yuletide present ideas? Following you'll find some proposals that you could be helpful to you : * Flowers can be recognized dependent on who you are giving them to.

You may think these can get a little pricey, but they are always cheap when you pull them out of the ground. Be happy to pick something red, green, and white so it feels less like it is a different holiday. This is perhaps the least expensive of these inexpensive Xmas present ideas. * Most folk love candy. It's quite unusual to find someone that gets loony at you for getting them candy.

Folk always sell Yuletide themed candies for that time of the year. If the individual you are making an attempt to shop for isn't keen on candy for some peculiar reason, then you can always try other sweet ( or not so sweet for diabetes sufferers and dieters ) foods. These would include cake, cookies, cupcakes, muffins, or anything made into the form of a present to say sorry for lack of a better one. You could think about this if she is a bit picky. * Balloons may also be a pleasant gesture. If you cannot find a themed one, try painting a tiny little snowman on one, or whatever design you believe looks nice. A few of the people might like a Rudolph, if you have got the talent. * For folk not conditioned to having serious cash, perhaps you could just give them that. This is done either in readies, check or gift token. * There are one or two engaging inexpensive Yuletide present ideas for kids of an exceedingly young age, or simply imaginative adults. You might personalize a fairy story targeted round the kid or adult. You might write it yourself, and find some footage of the individual to stick in it. Photoshop may also be used if you like. * The neatest thing you can get for somebody, though , is always something suited to their particular tastes. If you can not come up with a particular CD, book, picture, or game, then try getting them a general item if you know they're keen on it. As an example, a horror picture fan might be acquired a horror film. Just ask somebody first if they already have what you need to get them.

It might be a little ungainly to get them a CD they already own.

A few of the people may hope not to resort to inexpensive Xmas present ideas, but for those that do, the folks you shop for will know you attempted.

A Christmas Story

birthofjesus2When people think of a Christmas story, the first thing that usually comes to mind is the Christian or Biblical story of the birth of Jesus. This is one that nearly everyone has at least heard during their lifetime. It is repeated many times during church services in the Christmas season.

The story is of Mary and Joseph making their way to pay their taxes. Unfortunately, when they arrive at their destination, there is no place for them to stay. As Mary is quite pregnant, the inn keeper offers them space in his barn.  Mary gave birth that very night, right there in the barn. Surrounded by the animals in the barn, Mary and Joseph fashioned a crib for the baby out of a manger. They named their baby Jesus. This has always been a story of hope for many people.
For children, a Christmas story usually involves Santa Claus, his elves and his reindeer. This story has many variations, but they nearly all include the part where Santa, Kris Kringle, Father Christmas, or St. Nicholas delivers presents on Christmas Eve to all the good boys and girls all over the world. All young children adore this story, and it keeps them worked up into a frenzy of excitement during the few days preceding Christmas.

There is a Christmas story of a totally different type, too. These are the personal, true stories of things that happened to people during the Christmas season. Sometimes these stories take on the tone of true Christmas miracles, and are very touching and heartwarming to the people who hear these tales. There are true experiences of families who have no money for presents or toys for their children. Then, someone finds out about their plight. Suddenly, there are presents and food for the entire family. These might, indeed, be the REAL Christmas stories.

Whatever your beliefs or experiences, you probably have a Christmas story of your own about something that happened to you during this special holiday season. It is most likely a story that you have shared with many others during a Christmas gathering. This is a time of sharing, and everyone loves to hear these special tales of wondrous things that happened during past Christmases. It is a fact that new Christmas stories are made each year to share during future holidays. You may already have many of them, but that doesn’t mean that you will not ever have another one happen to you. When it does, you will be eager to tell others all about it.

Christmas Lights Gone Wild

Wow, this thing has really gone crazy with the viewers. Let me first start by saying that this is not my house. Regardless of what any of the comments read, this house really does exist, I have seen it with my own eyes and nothing you see in the video is trickery, it's all real.
This display was the work of Carson Williams, a Mason, Ohio, electrical engineer who spent about three hours sequencing the 88 Light-O-Rama channels that controlled the 16,000 Christmas lights in his annual holiday lighting spectacular (from Christmas 2004). His 2005 display includes over 25,000 lights that he spent nearly two months and $10,000 to hook up. So that the Williams' neighbors aren't disturbed by constant noise, viewers driving by the house are informed by signs to tune in to a signal broadcast over a low-power FM radio station to hear the musical accompaniment.

The rough quality of the video has led some viewers to believe it was put together in stop-action form from still photographs, but that is an artifact of the high compression used in the clip circulated via e-mail. Mr. Williams has posted instructions for recreating his "Wizard in Winter" sequencing, and another of his choreographed Christmas light music shows can be viewed here.

Carson's Christmas display proved so popular that it was featured in a Miller Lite beer commercial in December 2005.
